The Need Is Local. So Is the Solution.
Every year, an average of 250 children in Walker, Catoosa, Dade, and Chattooga counties experience placement into foster care.
That number changes throughout the year as children enter care, return home, move to other permanent placements, or begin new chapters. But one thing doesn’t change:
There are never enough advocates for every child who needs one.

Children who enter foster care have often experienced abuse, neglect, separation, and trauma. They may move between homes, schools, and caregivers while important decisions are being made about their future. A CASA volunteer can be the consistent adult who gets to know that child, listens to their concerns, gathers information, and makes sure their voice is heard.
But volunteers need support, too.
Your Donation Helps Make Advocacy Possible
Your gift helps provide the resources behind every CASA volunteer, including:
- Training materials that prepare volunteers to advocate effectively
- CASA toolboxes and connection resources that help volunteers build meaningful relationships with children
- Volunteer support and resources throughout the life of a case
- Community awareness and education programs that help our community understand the needs of children in foster care
- Recruitment efforts that help us find more people willing to stand up for children
- Outreach and events that connect CASA with families, businesses, churches, schools, and community partners
This Is Our Community’s Responsibility.
Federal, state, and private grants can help—but grants are not guaranteed, and funding decisions made far beyond our four counties shouldn’t determine whether a child here has an advocate.
The children we serve live here. Their stories are happening here. Their advocates live here, too.
That’s why local support matters.
When you give to Lookout Mountain CASA, you’re investing directly in the people and resources that help children in our own communities be seen, heard, and represented. We may not be able to change everything a child has experienced.
But together, we can make sure they don’t have to face the system alone.
