With extensive child welfare training, Krisi Rae brings experience and dedication to our team. Trained as a TBRI practitioner through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University, and a former volunteer experienced in complex cases, she is a true advocate for children. Her expertise extends to her roles on the Child Fatality Review Board and the Child Abuse Protocol Committee, as well as her work as the Community Child Preventive Care Liaison, where she promotes child safety through proactive initiatives. She excels by leveraging her deep knowledge of court proceedings to support both staff and volunteers. Krisi Rae’s unwavering commitment to children’s well‑being and her ability to build strong, trusting relationships make her an indispensable part of our team.

Hi! I’m Heather, and I serve as the Advocacy Recruitment and Training Coordinator for Lookout Mountain CASA. Before joining the staff, I was a CASA volunteer myself, so I understand both the rewards and challenges that come with advocating for children and navigating the child welfare system. My background includes graduate-level education in education and human services, which helps me bring both knowledge and a real-world perspective to recruiting, training, and supporting our volunteers.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three boys. Wth their help, I navigate homeschooling, gardening, more farm animals than I’d like to admit, extracurricular schedules, and staying involved in our community. I love meeting new people, sharing what CASA is all about, and helping potential volunteers feel comfortable and prepared as they explore whether advocacy is the right fit for them.
